The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting to hire thousands of temporary part-time census workers for the 2010 Census in the Greater Capital District of New York. The area includes 25-counties.
More than 1,400 people will be hired to perform the address canvassing operation, according to the Census Bureau.
The pay ranges from 11 dollars to almost 19 dollars an hour depending on the job, and the hours are flexible.
All census workers must be able to speak English, but bilingual skills in English and other languages are needed in diverse communities.
