What We’re Looking For:
Are you a passionate data professional with a knack for changing lives? Do you love writing, teaching, and storytelling as much as you love data engineering? Are you interested in creating world class learning experiences that will prepare adult learners to advance their skills in data engineering and data science? Then we may have the position for you.
At 2U, we’re creating programs to train new audiences for careers in the tech industry. Our programs are taught at the leading universities across the country including the University of California Berkeley, Northwestern, UT Austin, University of Toronto, and many others. We pride ourselves on building high-quality programs that help ambitious, hardworking adults change their lives through practical skills, fundamental knowledge, and the confidence to advance their careers.
The ideal candidate for this role has professional experience in complex projects applying your skills in data engineering, data warehousing, or database management. You will have created or taught technical curriculum for adult learners, with a focus on data engineering topics. You are always driving for great quality, but you also know when to “go pencils down” and ship a product, working iteratively to continue to improve based on student and instructor feedback.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
2U is looking for an experienced data engineering subject matter expert to temporarily join our Data Analytics and Visualization Boot Camp team to contribute to exciting curriculum development projects. This part-time role would be perfect for someone with strong expertise in data engineering and relevant professional experience.
You’ll work remotely with curriculum engineers, industry experts, instructional designers, and editorial partners to write a technical curriculum that is highly instructive, engaging, and teachable while resulting in expected learning outcomes for students.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Minimum of 3 years relevant data engineering experience
Applied experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or database management
Hands on experience or certification in AWS, PostgreSQL, Spark, Databricks, or Delta
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and writing skills
Ability to communicate complex topics in a manner that can be clearly understood by beginners.
