Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join an excellent PGT team at Peninsula Medical School, which has a reputation for dynamic and engaging approaches to teaching and learning. The University of Plymouth is set in the South West of the UK which boasts beautiful Dartmoor and stunning coastlines. The location itself provides a set of resources used within the Global Health programme including expeditions to remote, rural and urban areas. The Global Health Programme sits within the wider Postgraduate Taught (PGT) team of the Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. The key focus of the role will be your leadership of the MSc in Global Health. You will lead the Global Health team, teach, assess and contribute to quality assurance and enhancement across the programme. You will also be required to contribute to relevant modules and marking on other PGT programmes within the Medical School, particularly in relation to supervision and examination of the dissertations. You will engage in high quality and potentially impactful research and initiatives and work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent student experience across the PGT provision. We are looking for a candidate who has: experience of leading academic programmes of study a track record of innovative teaching and excellent student support confidence with educational technologies first-hand engagement with Global Health initiatives or projects a detailed working knowledge of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and systems strengthening experience of living and working abroad an understanding of working with complex health systems Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement.
